Job Title: Support Worker - Domestic Abuse (Female Applicants Only)
Location: Broadacres Housing Association, Broadacres - Customer Experience Housing
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Broadacres Housing Association. The successful candidate will be working in a women's refuge, providing crucial support and assistance to individuals who have experienced domestic abuse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing emotional support and practical assistance to women who have experienced domestic abuse
- Conducting risk assessments and safety planning with customers
- Signposting customers to relevant support services and agencies
- Advocating on behalf of customers to ensure their needs are met
- Maintaining accurate and confidential records of customer interactions
- Collaborating with colleagues and external agencies to provide holistic support to clients
Requirements:
- Female applicants only, due to the nature of the role and the vulnerable clientele
- Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably within a domestic abuse setting
- Strong understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and the impact it has on individuals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Knowledge of relevant support services and agencies
The successful applicant will be required to work towards gaining their IDVA qualification if they don't already hold it.
