Due to the nature of this role we will only be able to progress applications from female applicants.

We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Children’s Worker to support children and young people (up to age 16) living in our women’s refuge who may have experienced domestic abuse.

What You’ll Do

Provide one-to-one support and assess children’s emotional and practical needs
Deliver creative and therapeutic activities
Work alongside adult support workers to assist the whole family
Advocate for children at school, court and safeguarding meetings
Help families as they move on and resettle
Maintain accurate records and safeguarding processes
Work flexibly as part of a team.

About You

Experience working with children or vulnerable people (essential)
Understanding of domestic abuse and its impact
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to motivate, engage and build trust
Willing to undertake further training as required
